Dr. Femi Balogun’s research focuses on urban and regional planning with emphasis on urban security governance, residential neighbourhood safety, land use planning, housing studies, environmental sustainability, and regional development in African contexts. His scholarly contributions explore the relationships between spatial planning, governance systems, socio-economic change, and security dynamics in rapidly urbanising cities, particularly in Nigeria. The work integrates theoretical perspectives with empirical analysis to inform policy, planning practice, and sustainable urban development. His studies have been disseminated through peer-reviewed journals, edited books, book chapters, and international conference proceedings, contributing to contemporary debates in urban studies and the built environment.
